Firstly, a big thankyou to everyone who took the time throughout August to go see my exhibition The Red Tape at The Sweatshop. Like I said leading up to the show, it was my first solo, which for some reason felt like it took on some extra significance, so I really appreciate the support I received from people throughout.

In my last post I hinted at some of the other projects I had/have coming up, including a commissioned work for a friend, Kingy. I have to say it's the gladdest I've been to have taken on a job for a friend in a long time - firstly, Kingy knew what he wanted, but also let me run with it. Secondly, what he wanted is what I normally paint anyway. And most importantly, the end result, a work titled Three Kings which you can view by following the View Selcted Works tab and clicking on the thumbnail, is the happiest I've been with a work in a long time. Probably one of only two paintings I've ever done - the last one during uni - which I've liked at all.

While I usually hate signing works (what's the point in labouring over something to look a particular way, only to throw your stupid name all over the thing), I've copped a bit of flack recently for it from family, friends and colleagues. So I thought there's no better time to get accustomed to signing works than with something I'm actually content with.
